Report from June 6, 2018 CSN Meeting ~ Becoming a Trauma-Informed Community

Many thanks to the three wonderful speakers who presented at our June 6th meeting, Becoming a Trauma-Informed Community. They were extremely informative and we very much appreciate their time and expertise.

The speakers were:

  • Cindy Wilson, Director of Public Health Nursing, Nevada County Public Health Department, and a CSN-CAPC Board member. Cindy reported on the Trauma-Informed Care Training on 5/31.
  • Schuyler Bright, Founder & Director, Holistic Trauma Recovery Institute. Schuyler spoke about Trauma-Informed Yoga.
  • Judy Knapp, Director of PreventionWORKS, co-founded the El Dorado ACEs (Adverse Childhood Experiences) Collaborative in 2015 and is working on changing all systems to use trauma-informed approaches and services in El Dorado County, as well as helping Amador and Tuolumne Counties form their coalitions. Judy spoke about Trauma-Informed Communities.

We wrapped up the meeting with a Collaboration Mixer, the purpose of which is to allow smaller breakout groups of people to get better acquainted and share resources and ideas.

The meeting minutes will be posted on our Meetings page in the days to come.

REMEMBER ~ CSN Partner meetings are on summer hiatus July and August.
