Be the One Partner Meeting was a success!

Our December meeting and kick off of the Be the One Campaign was met with enthusiasm.  The presentation by Eli Gallup and Marina Bernheimer (handouts and more info available on CSN Be the One Page) provided a way to discuss Adverse Childhood Experience and resiliency and took members through an activity to reflect on how to make a difference and connect compassionately with others at home, in the workplace, neighborhoods, schools, online, and also with oneself for better self-care.

Discussion was rich and many themes came up that resonated with members about the challenges to truly listen and the challenge to spread the word about the impact of childhood trauma to the non-social work community.   Several members expressed interest in forming work group to promote Be the One so it can be used throughout the community to raise awareness.  Dena Malakian, Carol Grant, Shelley Rogers, Remy Lindsay, Serenity Madison, Whitney Logue, and Schuyler Bright came forward to start action group.  CSN will follow through and convene a meeting.
