- What ~ Third in the Building Resilience Series from Strategies 2.0 Sierra Region Learning Community Convening. The Learning Community series will continue to focus on Promoting Resilience using a Trauma-Informed Approach, Emphasizing Partnerships with Behavioral Health Systems. Together we will explore successful approaches to support the behavioral health needs of children and families living in rural communities.
- When ~ Thursday, February 7, 2019, from 9:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m.
- Where ~ Participants can attend the session in person at the hub in Jackson, at remote sites throughout the region, or individually from their personal computer.
Featured Speakers
- LORI CHELIUS, MBA and MPH, partner in Origins Training, will help us formulate a vision for agencies and communities to develop a trauma-informed approach that supports improved behavioral health outcomes. Participants will walk through a process to evaluate their needs, assess resources and barriers, and identify resilience champions.
- OSCAR C. PEREZ PhD, founder of Tending The Fires, will focus on the importance of developing a culturally competent and inclusive system that addresses inter-generational trauma and engages non-traditional partners.

MATT BRUFLODT, Information Specialist, will take us on a tour of the Rural Information Hub, a website that highlights evidence based behavioral health programs meeting the needs of citizens in rural areas across America.
Time will be provided to network other professionals in your region to identify concrete actions to develop a behavioral health system that fosters resilient families, agencies and communities.
