Our focus will be on programs that support Workforce Development for youth and adults.

Superheroes For Prevention Community Barbecue!

April is Child Abuse Prevention Awareness Month, and with that The Child Abuse Prevention Council of Western Nevada County (CAPC) is hosting the 2nd Annual Superheroes for Prevention Community BBQ.

We invite you to wear your favorite superhero costume, shirt, cape, or come as you are & join us for a FREE fun-filled day, run through & play games in giant blue foam bubbles, facepainting by the wonderfully talented Donya, super cool balloon twisting by Twistin Tim, meet & take pictures with superheroes, enjoy a free tasty BBQ lunch featuring food items from local grocers & Nevada County Free Range Beef!

**Please bring a change of dry clothes and a towel if you’d like dry off after enjoying the giant foam bubbles.**

Your Input Matters.

The Community Support Network of Nevada County will be hosting the Parent Guardian Advisory Council monthly meetings.

These meetings aim to enhance and refine the provision of services to families residing in Nevada County and the Tahoe/Truckee area.

Participants will receive compensation for their time and involvement in this group.

Pre-registration is mandatory for parents and guardians interested in participating.

NYU Invitation For Interview Study

 

Researchers from New York University, in collaboration with the California Department of Social Services Child Care and Development Division,

are conducting an interview study to explore the experiences of single mothers with the child care voucher program.

The interviews can be scheduled at your convenience. Rest assured, any information shared will be kept confidential.

Participants will receive a $35 compensation as a token of appreciation. Participation is voluntary and will not impact your relationship with the program.

Your identity will remain protected, and research findings will only be presented anonymously.

Therapy dogs love children and books, so what better place to spend the afternoon than the library?

Children of all ages are welcome to stop by and meet one of these hard-working dogs, practice reading out loud, share a favorite picture book, or just say “howdy.”

Exciting news starting May!

On May 6th, the Play & Learn Playgroup is shifting to Mondays (no longer on Fridays), running from 9:30 a.m. to 11 a.m. Even better, it’s now completely free to join!

Join us in The Learning Center every Monday morning for engaging developmental activities, socializing, and lots of fun playtime.

Although participation is open to all families at no charge, we kindly ask that you register with Amber at AmberM@sncs.org, as space is limited.

 

 

 

Interested in discovering additional opportunities for the children in your care?

Join us every Thursday from 10-11 a.m. to engage the children under your supervision in enjoyable learning activities designed to educate and foster their growth and development.

Each month will highlight a new focus on various activities.

This group is designed for License Exempt Providers, child caregivers, nannies, grandparents, or anyone looking after a child.

There are still available slots, reach out to CindyS@sncs.org to register (free of charge).

SYRCL Bilingual River Captains Needed.

River Captains help train and oversee River Ambassador volunteers to educate visitors about river safety and etiquette at assigned river crossings,

including the Highway 49 bridge, Bridgeport, and Purdon Crossing.

River Captains average 15 hours per week.
