Bright Futures for Youth establishes free or low-cost Youth Hub Summer Day Camp that helps students connect with each other and learn new skills for six weeks
Arts, math, science and loads of fun are part of Bright Futures for Youth’s first-ever Youth Hub Summer Day Camp, allowing transitional kindergarteners to ninth-graders the opportunity to expand their education and skills – and parents a low-cost (or even free) supervised option for their children.
The Youth Hub Summer Day Camp – a partnership between Bright Futures for Youth and Nevada County Health and Human Services – is available 8 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. weekdays June 21 through July 30 at two schools in Nevada City.
Children can attend daily and stay just a few hours or the entire day, and parents can pick and choose specific weeks that work for their schedule. Children will be divided into their grades and enjoy age-appropriate activities.
But perhaps the best part of the Youth Hub Summer Day Camp is the chance for kids to connect, play and spend time together after the challenges of distance learning and isolation from the Covid pandemic during the past 15 months.
