Save the date for the Health/Safety and Wildfire Preparedness Carnival

You are invited to participate in our 17th annual community Health/Safety & Wildfire Preparedness Carnival on Saturday, May 2, 2020 at the Rood Center in Nevada City from Noon to 4 PM. Please save the date!

Our 2019 Carnival hosted by the Kiwanis Club of the Gold Country, the Fire Safe Council and the County O.E.S. was a huge success with the support of agencies and community service organizations. We hosted over 1,000 young children and family members to meet our First Responders (law enforcement, fire, rescue, helicopter & fire), plus over 35 other agencies and non-profit organizations. Each exhibitor “engaged” our guests in some way (i.e.-games, demonstrations) to make their learning experiences fun. Our County Administration Center offers convenient access to visit our exhibits, programs, live demonstrations, entertainment and adjacent guest parking.

Families receive important safety and health information, plus view demonstrations and exhibits by community members dedicated to keeping our community safe. Free attractions include fun activities, contests, prizes, entertainment, plus a BBQ meal, popcorn and snow-cones. We’ll have photo ops with Mascots and planned interviews on a live radio broadcast.

The continued success of this important community event depends on your involvement. We’d appreciate your ideas and assistance for our event. Financial and “in-kind” supporters are recognized in our media publicity and during the event. Please consider supporting our 2020 event. Contributions may be sent to “Gold Country Youth Benefit Foundation”, c/o Treasurer David Jones, P.O. Box 721, Grass Valley, CA. 95945.
