Personal Emergency Preparedness, Long Term Services and Support and The California Master Plan on Aging!

Our program Begins 9:00 am with  Keynote Speaker, Sheriff’s Capt. Jeff Pettit, Head of the Nevada County Office of Emergency Services speaking on County Emergency Preparedness Programs – how to signup and what you as an individual must be prepared for in an emergency situation. Topics throughout the morning and early afternoon include the PG&E Power Shut-off Plan, Public Transportation Options in Nevada County, Nutrition and the Newly Expanded CalFresh Program.  We will discuss current scams and frauds effecting older and dependent adults.  There will be a panel of local elected officials discussing and answering questions regarding meeting the local needs of our most vulnerable citizens, and we will end the day with our afternoon Keynote Speaker, Ana Acton, Executive Director of FREED Independent Living Center, talking about Personal Emergency Preparedness.Along the way, we will serve lunch, you will have access to over 25 local vendors at the resource fair and, as always,  at the end of the day – the Raffle!!Thank you to our sponsors: Anthem Blue Cross, The SCAN Foundation, PG&E and California Health and Wellness – Health Net
