Nov. 8 ~ Build Resilient Communities ~ attend in person or online

Thanks to Barbara DeLorenzo DeGraaf, Sierra Learning Community Facilitator, Strategies 2.0, for this info about the upcoming Nov. 8 Sierra Learning Community Convening. Here’s the note from Barb…

This is the Second in the Building Resiliency Series:

Build Resilient Communities by Fostering Trust and Finding Champions.  Explore how innovative Child Abuse Prevention Month activities can promote resilience.   Learn self-care strategies to stay motivated!

When:  Thursday, November 8, 2018, 9:30 am to 12:30 pm

Locations: Attend in person at the Amador Child Abuse Prevention Council in Jackson, on-line from your personal computer, or attend at a remote site in Loyalton, Markleeville, and South Lake Tahoe

Network in the Sierra Nevada Region to learn about innovative Child Abuse Prevention activities to build family, community and agency resiliency.  National representatives from child abuse prevention programs in Virginia, Kentucky, and New Hampshire, as well as Natalie Audage, from Yolo County’s Children Alliance, will share their activities.  Then, hear from your colleagues about efforts to develop successful child abuse prevention programs in the Sierra region, as well as challenges.

Learn how important it is to build personal resilience by treating yourself to a TedTalk from Laura van Dernoot Lipsky, founder of the Trauma Stewardship Institute, on self-care for helping professionals.

Participants can attend the session in person at the hub in Jackson, at remote sites throughout the region, or individually from their personal computer!
