We have seen an incredible outpouring of support for our community during the #RiverFire. Nevada County Sheriff’s Office, Animal Control, and the Nevada County Veterinary Disaster Response Team volunteers have been working tirelessly to feed and shelter evacuated animals this past week. A few days ago, more than 500 animals of all kinds were being cared for at the Nevada County Fairgrounds.
After a call for assistance was made, scores of community members opened their stalls, pens, yards, and hearts to shelter these displaced animals. Thank you to all those who called and emailed to offer help. We are thrilled to share that all of our furry, feathered, and scaly friends had a safe place to rest their heads tonight. We are #NevadaCountyStrong!
