CDFA Highlights Nevada County’s Starbright Acres Family Farm
When giving thanks this time of year, it is important to recognize the work that small farmers do to provide robust produce year-round and to add resiliency to our community. This week, the California Department of Food and Agriculture recognized the work of local farm Starbright Acres Family Farm. Many farms in the area work with Grass Valley Farmer’s Market, Nevada City Farmer’s market and local vendors like BriarPatch Food Co-op to feed our community. They also support our nonprofit partners like Interfaith Food Ministry to help feed those in need.
“This work, supporting local farmers and their lifeblood, is what makes my team’s work so rewarding,” said Chris de Nijs, Agricultural Commissioner.
