Board of Supervisors August 10th Agenda Preview

Pursuant to Governor Gavin Newsom’s Executive Order pertaining to the convening of public meetings in response to the COVID-19 pandemic, the County of Nevada will hold its regularly scheduled meeting of the Board of Supervisors from inside the Board Chambers. The Tuesday August 10th meeting starts at 9:00 a.m. in the Board Chambers.

District 5 Supervisor Hardy Bullock will present a resolution supporting Measure T: Wildfire Protection Measure for the purpose of reducing the risk of wildfire and improving local wildfire prevention, and providing a stable source of local funding for wildfire prevention and mitigation through a special tax in the amount of $179 per parcel within the boundaries of the Truckee Fire Protection District, for a period of eight years that shall be consolidated and come before the voters with the gubernatorial recall election on September 14, 2021.

Following the consent calendar, Chief Information Officer Stephen Monaghan will present a resolution proclaiming a Local Emergency in Nevada County due to the River Fire.

Next, the Board will discuss an Ordinance amending section 1.27 to Chapter VII Article I of the General Code of the County of Nevada pertaining to discharging a firearm.

During the afternoon session, Building Director Craig Griesbach will make a presentation and the Board will provide direction regarding implementation of an Unmanned Aircraft System (UAS) pilot program specific to unpermitted commercial cannabis enforcement.
