Backpack and School Supply Drive for Child Support Awareness Month
In partnership with Partners Family Resource Centers, the Sierra Nevada Regional Department of Child Support Services is collecting and distributing new backpacks and school supplies to local families in need as part of the annual Child Support Awareness Month Campaign, which takes place annually in August.
Last year was difficult for many children and teachers in our community as they worked through the unknowns that came with a hybrid model of education and are excited about the prospect of returning to the classroom later this summer. Please join Child Support Services in providing a head start back to the classroom for the 21/22 school year by donating backpacks and classroom supplies for students in need. Donation collection bins are available in the following locations: Nevada City, in the Rood Building main lobby; Grass Valley, at SaveMart, Staples, and Kmart; and in South County at the CVS on Combie Road. A donation drive-thru will be held at the Rood Administration Building at 950 Maidu Avenue, Nevada City, from 8:00 am to noon on Thursday, July 15th, and Saturday, July 17th.
