Youth Commission Application Deadline Extended to Sept. 15

Young people ages 14-19 who live in or attend school in Nevada County still have time to apply for the new Nevada County Youth Commission.

The organization’s mission is to identify, connect, and advocate for issues facing Nevada County youth.

Fourteen vacancies are available. The County is looking for at least one youth from each of the five supervisorial districts while the nine other members are at large and can be from anywhere.

Artistry Unleashed With Anita Lincoln

Join local artist Anita Lincoln for a hands-on workshop at the Madelyn Helling Library in Nevada City Wednesday, September 20 for the first installment of the “Artistry Unleashed: Visiting Creators Series.”

The free class begins at 5:30 p.m. Lincoln, a local artist and teacher, will walk adult artists of all skill levels through her creative process and facilitate a playful session using acrylic, metallic, and mixed-media mediums.
