Annual Backpack Drive Returns
Sierra Nevada Regional Department of Child Support Services , in collaboration with Bright Futures for Youth, is seeking donations of new backpacks and school supplies for children ages 5 to 17. The support of the community is imperative to the success of this drive. Please join us in our effort to help kids feel confident and ready to learn as they enter the 23-24 school year!
Take the Community Wildfire Protection Plan Survey
Now through August 31st, the Nevada County Office of Emergency Services is collecting resident feedback through the Community Wildfire Protection Plan Survey. All Nevada County residents are encouraged to take the survey. So far, nearly 700 folks have provided their insight on challenges related to wildfire, mitigation priorities, and evacuation concerns.
The survey is available in both English and Spanish and can be completed online or in-person. The Office of Emergency Services will be hitting the streets to connect with residents about wildfire and emergency preparedness at several events this summer. Come out and say hello and add your voice to the survey.
