Hello Community Partners,
There’s a lot of exciting work happening with the Community Support Network and Child Abuse Prevention Council of Western Nevada County. Coming up on October 29th, we have our 2nd annual Spooky Booky Drive Up Book Giveaway. If you’re interested in volunteering or contributing any goodies, please email Alyssa Burke (csnncorg@gmail.com).
On November 3rd, please join us for an exciting facilitated discussion with local service providers and parents around child abuse prevention services in Nevada County. This will be a great opportunity to hear more about the great services offered and ways that we can improve family wellbeing moving forward. Click here to register.
And finally, we’re forming a workgroup to develop our formalized Child Abuse Prevention Plan. This plan will be a cross-sector, collaborative effort combining local community-based organizations and County leadership in an effort to improve outcomes for high risk families. We are looking for volunteers to participate in monthly workgroup meetings around the following topics:
- Needs Assessments
- Asset Mapping
- Goal Setting
- Implementation Planning
- Sustainability Planning
- And more…
Ideally, volunteers would be able to commit to attending [at least] one, 2-hour meeting per month to help us put pen-to-paper and develop this written plan. We are looking for volunteers from all levels: community members, parents, direct service providers, organizational leadership, County leadership etc. For more information about the workgroup, and to sign up to receive more information, please email Alyssa Burke (csnncorg@gmail.com).
Thank you,
Melody Easton, Chair
