The Culinary Program Manager is responsible for managing all Hospitality House kitchen activities and the Culinary Job Training Program. Under the supervision of Job Placement Case Manager, the Culinary Program Manager plans, directs, coordinates, and supervises students and volunteers in the preparation of balanced nutritious meals for shelter guests. Preparing and overseeing the general food service for community events is also a key component of the position. Job duties also include picking up, receiving, storing, and using donated food items; purchasing food supplies; creating and preparing healthy and delicious menus; developing a culinary training program/ curriculum for both shelter guests and outside community participants; ensuring proper kitchen Health and Safety standards; supporting culinary fund development programs; and coordinating those meals provided by volunteers for the shelter guests.

Hospitality House is a community shelter for the Homeless in Nevada County funded primarily by individual donations. The year-round shelter is a safe haven; those seeking shelter at Hospitality House are offered three meals, along with laundry and shower facilities.
