Nevada County employs approximately 800 employees covering a full range of services and positions, from accountants to wastewater treatment system operators. Nevada County is seeking an experienced Accountant for the Health and Human Services Agency to support the fiscal unit for the Behavioral Health Department. Our accountants perform professional accounting, including:
- Preparation and review of Journal Entries
- Review and approval of Accounts Payable batches
- Monitoring and analysis of revenues and expenditures
- Grant claims and grant report preparation
- Gathering of data for a variety of financial reports requiring the application of accounting principles and judgment
- Analysis of financial system reports
- Grant budgets and County budget preparation and monitoring
The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university, with major coursework in accounting or a related field, and one year of applicable experience. If you have additional experience of more than 2 years, that’s a plus!
