The outlook is alarming: The 2020 U.S. Census could miss up to 2 million children under age 5, according to researchers and past census results.

The stakes are high: When children go uncounted, their communities are at risk of getting less federal funding for schools, hospitals, libraries and other resources.

The call to action is clear: Each decade, we have a chance to get it right. And every adult can take steps to ensure all children are counted in the upcoming census.

To help spread the word, the Annie E. Casey Foundation has created a video, Count All Kids, highlighting why this issue is important and which kids are most likely to be missed by the 2020 census.

Count All Kids echoes a message first delivered by Casey President and CEO Patrick McCarthy in the 2018 KIDS COUNT Data Book and is featured in a new blog post, outlining five ways that leaders can get involved to help count all kids.
