The MCAH program was enacted as part of the Social Security Act to improve health, safety and well-being of mothers and children, including children with special health care needs. Every five years the program is required by the state and federal governments to do a needs assessment to determine local priorities for the maternal, child, and adolescent population. This must be done with input from community members. Our meeting was part of this process, along with all surveys submitted.
