NEO Group Assistant 

Bright Futures for Youth (BFFY), established with the merger of The Friendship Club and NEO in summer 2020, is a nonprofit committed to addressing the ever-changing needs of youth, from sixth-graders to those in their mid-20s, in Nevada County. We’re about helping youth today to ensure a better future tomorrow. 

The NEO Group Assistant is responsible for helping implement activities related to academic year programs with middle school and high school youth. The NEO Group Assistant is a 10-12 hour/week, non-exempt position supervised by the NEO Program Director. Compensation is based on experience.

Nevada County Superintendent of Schools Office

Community School Liaison

The Community-School Liaison (CSL) will be located at the Family Resource Centers. (FRC’s) located at Nevada County Schools to improve school support systems and offer coordinated resources for students and families. The CSL will work to unify our county’s schools, programs, activities, community agencies and other stakeholders to develop an integrated, sustainable system of support for students and their families through resource education and providing access to available resources. The CSL will work with parents and children to support their needs using the Protective Factors Framework for family strengthening and effective family support service delivery.

Big Brothers Big Sisters of Northern Sierra

Special Events/Outreach Manager

The Special Events/Outreach Manager promotes Big Brothers Big Sisters at a variety of community events and assists in the development of revenue generating opportunities; including corporate partnerships, special events, and individual donations. They will manage all aspects of two local special events and may be asked to assist with others throughout the year.  This is a Part-time position with very flexible hours (20 p/wk) but may fluctuate depending on workflow.  $20-$22 p/hr depending on experience.  Send resume to: brenda@bbbsns.org.

Home Visitor for the Healthy Babies

This is a full time position with the Healthy Babies (HB) Home Visiting Program in the Nevada City, California office. Home Visitors offer parenting advice, resources, and support to families.

Under the direction of Supervisor, the HB Home Visitor conducts outreach and home visits with assigned families in the Western Nevada County community. The Home Visitor will help families identify strengths, develop a strong parent/child bond, set and meet goals, and develop parenting skills.

Bilingual in English/Spanish is required.

Candidates must have a minimum of a high school diploma. College coursework or degree is preferred in Social Work, Psychology, Counseling or other related Social Service field from an accredited college or university. Must have experience working directly with clients in a community-based and service organization can be substituted for a degree.
