The primary function of the Program Manager is to provide match support to ensure child safety, positive impacts for youth, constructive and satisfying relationships between children and volunteers, and a strong sense of affiliation with BBBS on the part of volunteers. This position promotes positive impact for youth, constructive and satisfying relationships and a strong affiliation with BBBBS. This position needs to collaborate with other internal departments and advocate for support from community partners.
This position requires some driving from the divide in El Dorado County and Colfax in Placer County and will be responsible for helping launch a site-based mentoring program. This position requires some curriculum development for volunteers and children to do together and organization with schools. The curriculum should promote social emotional growth, relationship development and overall child engagement. The Program Manager will also be responsible for all of the match in foster youth and recruitment for this program.
A Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work or related field is preferred. Knowledge of working with volunteers, children, and parents is a plus. No phone calls please. Big Brothers Big Sisters is an EOE.
Sierra College is currently in search of interns for the Fall 2022 cohort of our Equity Educator Intern Program.
$500.00/Annually
The Equity Educator Intern Program is designed to provide hands-on/practical experience in an educational setting with a Faculty Ambassador for one semester. To enhance the Equity Educator’s introduction to the field of instruction, the program has the following two components: 1) approximately 16 hours of equity and student-centered training (at no cost to the Equity Educator) and 2) approximately 64 hours of classroom observation/program requirements, which includes no more than 6 hours of direct instruction.
This program is also open to individuals interested in non-instructional faculty roles, such as individuals interested in becoming Counselors, Librarians, etc.
