Bright Futures for Youth has been awarded a $937,000 grant for the SAFE program, which helps youth experiencing homelessness in western Nevada County.
The state-funded grant from The Center at Sierra Health Foundation allows the SAFE program to expand outreach and provide numerous services to children and young adults faced with housing insecurity.
The grant – the largest-ever for Bright Futures for Youth, a 27-year-old organization – will also help establish a drop-in center for youth and the hiring of more staff.
