Maternal Mental Health Awareness Walk

May is Maternal Mental Health Month. We are celebrating birthing parents and bringing awareness to all aspects of their wellness. Join us for a short talk, followed by an interactive art project and walk.

YRCS Wildflowers 5K

Join us for the 2nd Annual YRCS Wildflower Run on May 18, 2024!
~In-Person Registration Begins at 8am~
~The 5K Walk/Run Begins at 9am and Ends at 11am~

The Wildflower Run is a community event that allows the community to come together to experience a 5K Walk/Run on the Wildflower Trail from the YRCS campus. This event is meant to be fun and inclusive – no running experience needed! All are welcome to participate at a speed they can enjoy. This year we also have an alternate 2K walk/stroller option for those who would like a more accessible course.

This year we also have Wildflower Run T-Shirts for sale! The shirt will feature the Wildflower 5K logo shown above, designed by the lovely Brianna French. Please pre-order your T-Shirt by May 1st. T-Shirts are available for purchase under “Tickets” and sizes are selected on the payment page.

We ask that you register ahead, as well as fill out a waiver here for each participant. We will have paper waivers available on campus as well. And, while we do love pups, please leave all pets at home for this event.

 

Armed Forces Day Celebration Scholarship Fundraiser

FREE community event on Saturday, May 18th at the Nevada County Airport.

The event is hosted jointly by Nevada County Airport, Grass Valley Chamber, and the Golden Empire Flying Association. Proceeds fund local aviation scholarships for young people interested in aviation.

UC Master Gardeners Program.

Master Gardener Community Education Specialist 2
This position will perform the full range of program implementation duties. They will be responsible for the coordination, management, and delivery of education to community members through a combination of direct education and volunteer management. This includes training, guiding, and supporting volunteer extenders with education, information, and resources; evaluating program implementation; collecting and compiling enrollment, documentation, and evaluation data from volunteer extenders and participants; and writing reports in compliance with funding requirements.

This position is Full Time with a compensation range of $21.89 – $29.12/hour and is based in Auburn.

CAP Center Big Day Of Giving

4/2/24 Child Abuse Prevention Center Big Day Of Giving

Our programs like these help the families we serve and keep families united and kids out of foster care.

Your donation will help us reach more families and save more children.

Think of the kids this Big Day of Giving with a donation to The Child Abuse Prevention Center. Here’s where the money goes:
· $25 will provide a sleep sack for a baby
· $50 will provide a box of 200 diapers
· $60 will provide a crib for a family that cannot purchase one for a new baby
· $100 will provide 1 hour of one-on-one life skills training for a foster youth
· $250 will provide healthy meals for 20 pregnant moms attending an infant safe sleep class
· $1,000 will provide prevention services to 15 families for one month.

One week leadership day camp for incoming 6-8th graders with games, skits, field trips, leadership lessons and more, taught by Police Officers and NEO Staff.

If they attended last year, they must sign up on the wait-list to allow others to sign up first.
