⁠This position is a crucial component of our 24/7 Dispatch Center, which provides essential safety services to the Auburn community. The incumbent will handle incoming crime reports and dispatch police personnel for both emergency and non-emergency situations. Dispatchers work a shift schedule of six 12-hour shifts and one eight-hour shift each pay period.⁠

HOPE Back-To-School Drive THIS Saturday

Free Back-To-School Event for Families in need.

Get ready for the biggest Back-to-School event in Nevada County!

What: HOPE for Nevada County
When: August 3, from 10 AM – 1 PM (or until supplies run out)
Where: Nevada Union (Hooper Stadium)

Local businesses, non-profits, and civic leaders have partnered to throw a completely free Back-to-School event to help struggling families get ready for the start of the school year!

They’ll be handing out backpacks filled with school supplies, new shoes and socks, and lots of groceries!

Free haircuts and activities for both kids and teens as well as FREE lunch for the whole family!

Join us as we spread a little HOPE in Nevada County.

Volunteers Needed @ Fairgrounds

Volunteer at the Nevada County Fair!

There is still time to join the team that puts on Nevada County’s largest and favorite event, the Nevada County Fair.🎡🎠 This year the dates are August 7-11, 2024.

Some positions have additional shifts and hours available before and after Fair.

Hours vary, depending on the position. All positions require excellent customer service skills. Most positions are for those 16 or older (work permit may be required).

Available jobs include:

  • Gate Cashiers: Responsible for selling admission tickets, making change accurately, and completing sales reports daily. Previous cash handling experience is required.
  • Ticket Monitors: Take tickets from Fair attendees as they come through the gates and greet them with a smile and positive attitude.
  • Parking: Direct cars to available spaces, provide gate control, and open and close parking areas throughout the day.
  • “Red Shirt” Guest Services: Be the “eyes and ears” of the Fair. Must be interactive with Fair attendees, providing information and assistance, as needed. Connect with law enforcement, if needed, in the event of an emergency or incident requiring their assistance.
  • Clean Up Crew: Keep the Fairgrounds sparkling clean! Empty garbage cans, pick up trash, clean up area around grandstands, sweep buildings, and other cleaning duties as assigned.
