Join researchers from around the world as they discuss agricultural all-terrain vehicle (ATV) safety. ATVs are widely used in agricultural work to apply fertilizers and chemicals, inspect livestock and crops, supervise and transport workers, and carry and tow equipment. Unfortunately, they also account for a significant percentage of work-related accidents.
The ATV death rate is 100 times higher in the agricultural industry than in other U.S. industries and ATV crashes are the second-leading cause of injuries and deaths in U.S. agriculture.
Symposium topics include:
- ATV rollover incidents
- Safety standards and design features
- Crush protection device (CPD) installation and consumer protection laws
- Safety training and current guidelines
- Youth ATV safety
