Public Health Department Offers Know the Signs Community Training
May is Mental Health Awareness Month! Did you know that over the last year, Nevada County’s local crisis line (530-265-5811) received more than 3,000 calls for mental health-related support? During the month of May, let’s normalize talking about mental health, asking for help and learning how we can support people in our lives and community who are struggling.
In recognition of Mental Health Awareness Month, Nevada County Public Health is hosting a free community Know the Signs training on Wednesday, May 24th from 4:00 to 5:00 pm. Attendees will learn about the warning signs of suicide, how to engage with someone they’re concerned about, and the resources available to help.
