Domestic Violence Awareness Month

October is National Domestic Violence Awareness Month. (DVAM)

Domestic Violence Awareness Month is a time to remember victims/survivors of abuse and exploitation, to raise awareness of violence and its impacts on families and communities, honor the heartbreaking lives that have been lost, and a time to acknowledge and highlight those working to reducing the abuse that plagues homes world wide. This is also a time to raise awareness about the work that still needs to be done!

Domestic violence was a serious and life threating problem prior to COVID, but has been at an all time high since the start of the pandemic. On average, nearly 20 people per minute are physically abused by an intimate partner in the United States. Since the pandemic those numbers have sadly significantly increased.  If you or someone you know are experiencing domestic violence or even verbal abuse, please contact one of the numbers below.
