This Week’s Story of Resilience : Redemption Youth Ranch

A Story of Resilience and Redemption

Roxy never imagined she would have a life combining her two loves of helping hurting children and horses. When God called her to start RYR she had very little experience working with horses. So with utmost determination she has devoted the last few years studying under master horseman Buck Brannaman. Her studies have even taken her a couple times to Montana to work horses on a cattle ranch. At RYR Roxy is responsible for selecting and training all the horses that serve our youth. One of her greatest joys is bringing a frightened and anxiety ridden horse to a place of peace, rest and a good frame of mind. The only joy that trumps that is doing the same for children. Having come from a childhood of abuse and living in constant fear, Roxy empathizes with the brokenness, hurt and devastation in which many of our ranch youth and horses have endured. However, also having experienced the restoration of Jesus’ saving grace and healing love, there is a hope of freedom and victory that she longs to share. When a child receives God’s love there is a peace that settles in their soul. Roxy is so honored to have the privilege and purpose in life to provide a safe place where downcast eyes can light up, a little girl who doesn’t talk can share her heart, and walls shatter like broken glass.

Redemption Youth Ranch exists to provide a safe and positive environment for hurting and disadvantaged children and families to feel the love of Jesus Christ and enjoy the experience of life on a ranch.

Our goal is to provide every child a mentor and an outdoor activity (working with/riding a horse, photography, playing games, archery, fishing, etc.) that will encourage the youth to grow and heal.

Redemption Youth Ranch is a faith-based organization. Although the ranch is not associated with any particular denomination, we are founded upon Christian principals and values. It is through Christ Jesus’ grace, forgiveness and redemption that we have hope and new life. It is our greatest joy and honor to live out our faith in action by serving children and families of all backgrounds with the same loving grace that has been freely given to us.
