Resources: The Child Abuse Prevention Center

For over 40 years, The Child Abuse Prevention Center has been a state, national and international service, training, advocacy and resource center dedicated to protecting children and building healthy families. Located in Sacramento, the CAP Center  is home to several unique agencies that each take different but complementary approaches and programs to build strong families and keep children safe.

Child abuse occurs at every socioeconomic level, across ethnic and cultural lines, within all religions, and at all levels of education. A report of child abuse is made every ten seconds. Each April, people join the movement to promote Child Abuse Prevention (CAP) Month to raise awareness that child abuse is preventable. The Child Abuse Prevention Center works to prevent child abuse and neglect effectively through safety, education, health and advocacy. For over forty years, the CAP Center has demonstrated a strong record of reducing child abuse cases by 97% among the children and families we serve.

Throughout April the CAP Center is offering a wide range of resources to support Child Abuse Prevention Month awareness and programs. There are so many ways you can join the movement in preventing child abuse along with more resources and fun activities for children.
