Story Time with Laurie offers fun and free preschool activities for parents and their young children. This Virtual Playgroup meets on Wednesdays at 10:00 on Zoom and features stories, songs, sharing, pre-reading and math exercises. Contact Laurie 530-278-8257 to sign up and receive the Zoom invite.
The Penn Valley Family Resource Center also offers a wide range of other opportunities for families in the Penn Valley, Lake Wildwood and outlying areas to connect, learn and play. Located at the back of the Ready Springs School campus, the FRC assists families with parenting, child development, counseling, education, employment, public assistance enrollment and community resources. They collaborate with the Community Nutrition Educator, Nevada County Diaper Project, and many others. Support from area schools (Ready Springs, Williams Ranch, Clear Creek, and Vantage Point Charter), parents, and community volunteers enhances their programs and resources for families.
