The Nevada-Placer Opioid Summit, hosted by Granite Wellness Centers as part of its Youth Opioid Response project, is a series of four online sessions, facilitated live by Dr. Corey Waller, a nationally recognized expert in Substance Use Disorders and Mental Health.
Sessions are 1 hour each from 12:00 – 1:00 pm. These are appropriate for anyone that cares for and works with young adults, including behavioral health professionals, law enforcement, educators, healthcare professionals, parents/family members, etc.
July 9th: Substance Use Disorders and the Developing Brain – Understanding the relationship of trauma, isolation, substance use, and co-occurring disorders with neurobiology
July 16th: Trauma– Throughout the lifespan and substance use disorders
July 23rd: Neonatal– Addressing opiate use disorders in pregnant and parenting women
July 30th: Addressing opiate use disorders with justice-involved populations– Integrations, innovations and best practices
