Many of you are asking how you can help support relief efforts throughout Butte County, which has been devastated by the most destructive and fatal fire in California history. Over 14,000 children newborn to age 5 are being horribly impacted by this tragedy. Families directly impacted by the fire have lost homes, jobs, childcare resources, and the ability to meet their basic needs. Families throughout the county are struggling with dangerous air quality and declining resources due to the thousands of evacuees that have sought refuge in their neighboring communities. This is truly a crisis of epic proportion for our littlest ones.
First 5 Butte County has now partnered with the California Children & Families Foundation to accept donations on behalf of our youngest children and their families who have been devastated by this fire. All funds will be directed to First 5 Butte County to help meet the immediate and long-term needs of our county’s littlest ones and their families.
The Foundation site allows for credit card donations. Donors can also provide support via check. Checks should be made out to the California Children and Families Foundation (and sent to the address in the link). All donations are deeply appreciated.
