Summit Description

Provided at no-cost by Nevada County Public Health, this Summit will challenge us to make connections across diverse sectors about the health and vitality of our community. Attendees will explore opportunities for collaboration on goals that demonstrate the connection between healthy people, healthy places, and a healthy economy. We will also examine new narratives and approaches focused on creating and sustaining healthy communities.

Attendance is free and lunch is provided.

Professionals in the fields of community economic development, public health, education, human services, the arts, recreation, early child care, philanthropy, health care, housing, business, law enforcement, transportation, agriculture and farming, and others interested in building healthy communities in Nevada County.

  • Panel Discussion #1: Cultivating and Maintaining a Healthy Community. In conversation with each other, Nevada County thought-leaders explore the health and vitality of our communitiesand how their work impacts that health and vitality in creative and uncommon ways.
  • Panel Discussion #2: Success Stories.With brief presentations and discussion, local leaders will explore successful projects and initiatives that have impacted the health of our people, places, and economy.

Keynote Speaker Bio: David J. Erickson, PhD

David J. Erickson is director of Community Development at the Federal Reserve Bank of San Francisco and serves as Community Development Officer for the Federal Reserve’s Twelfth District. In this role, he hasfostered initiatives exploring innovative community development financing models and greater intersections with the health, arts, and environmental sectors to identify new investible opportunities that benefit lower-income communities.
