Child Abuse Prevention Awareness Month Kick-Off

Community Gathering

The Child Abuse Prevention Council of Western Nevada County (CAPC-WNC) will be hosting The Child Abuse Prevention Awareness Month Kick-off Community Gathering that will serve as the April 2026 Community Support Network of Nevada County (CSN) meeting. There will be no virtual CSN meeting for April.

Please join us in-person on Thursday, 4.2.2026, 8:30 am – 11 am at the Miners Foundry Cultural Center located at 325 Spring St. Nevada City, CA 95959.

Wear your best (or favorite) blues for kiddos and youth.

We will hold a memorial flag raising ceremony to recognize and honor children who have lost their lives due to child abuse and neglect. Following the memorial flag raising, we will honor our local first responders and have several community leaders speak to the impact of child abuse and neglect in our community along with a panel of local prevention partners and parent/youth with lived experience. Additionally, we will recognize our Pinwheels for Prevention Gardens hosts and share where pinwheels can be seen twirling around our beautiful community.
